We are delighted to partner with our client in Cork who is currently hiring for a Data Scientist for a 12 month contract role. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist and strong stakeholder and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Source and automate the collection of relevant data.
- Perform pre-processing on both structured and unstructured data.
- Combine and analyze extensive datasets to uncover trends and insights.
- Develop models and machine learning algorithms to solve business challenges.
- Use data visualization techniques to present exploratory findings and insights effectively.
- Recommend actionable strategies and solutions for business challenges.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and identify how data can support achieving them.
Requirements:
- Over 5 years of experience in Data Science, with a strong background in developing and operationalizing machine learning models.
- Proficient in handling and transforming datasets and constructing statistical models in both research and industry settings.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking.
- Skilled in programming languages like Python for data analysis and modeling.
- Experienced in database querying using SQL.
- Comprehensive understanding of various machine learning methods (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks), including their benefits and limitations in real-world applications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for conveying complex ideas effectively.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a bonus.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI is an added advantage
